About Rowan

Rowan is a 1yo red heeler mix. He is FULL of puppy energy and never seems to get tired. The only thing he loves more than his ball, is his person. All he wants is to be right by your side all the time. Rowan is the definition of a velcro pup. That being said, he also does well by himself for long periods of time as long as he has a chew toy or a puzzle. Rowan is an amateur hiker, camper, and beginner kayaker. He has his obedience training down and loves learning new things. He is extremely intelligent and eager to please. Rowan usually sleeps during car rides and loves UTV rides. This pup is an absolute cuddle-bug and very gentle with his person. But Rowan got all the heeler genes and has a very strong protective streak. He will growl, bark, and snap at the heels and hands of any person, dog, or cat that comes near his person or his place. We are working on training and he is showing great progress. Rowan did not receive the socialization or training heeler puppies need. He needs a patient person who can be consistent with his training and preferably has herding dog experience. His prey-drive and herding instincts are strong. Rowan would make an excellent farm or bird dog. Any potential home must have access to a space where he can run off-leash for at minimum 90mins everyday. Rowan is the most loyal, intelligent, and loving dog I have ever known. He will make an excellent adventure buddy and companion for the person willing to give him a chance at a better life.
