About Big Blue

We took Big Blue in for a family member who was unable to care for him at the time. The situation has became permanent for the family member and we cannot care for him any longer. He is a beautiful 9 months old Blue Pit Bull with a lot of growing left to do. I am disabled, My wife works full time and my small grandchildren (5 months & 3y/o) come to visit almost every day. He needs a fenced yard to run or someone who can walk him a couple times a day. I have a motorized scooter so I take him on runs at least 3 times a day and he's still ready to go! I keep him in his cage most of the time when my grandchildren come over because I am in fear of him hurting one of them, by no fault of his own. I hate keeping any animal in a cage, unless it's for sleeping. He is a very large puppy and still very playful. He is fine with visitors and surely lets you know when someone is on your property! He gets along with the neighbors pit bull but we have not had him around any other animals so I am not sure how he would do with other animals. We have had him for a month so I have put a lot of time and energy into him, working on commands and his manners. He is potty trained, responds to most commands, he loves car rides and belly rubs! He sleeps in his cage at night. He would be a wonderful companion for the right type of owner/family. I would prefer him to go to someone who has no small children and has experience with handling a larger breed dog. He is UTD on vaccines, including Rabies but I am not sure about worming medicine. The only aggressiveness that I have noticed is when I give him a large bone or toy and I command he does something for it, he tries to challenge me on being the alpha. He is a little bit toy aggressive and he may have separation anxiety when he's left alone. He has been a wonderful companion for me and I know someone else is going to enjoy him as I have.If it weren't for my grandchildren, I would keep him myself but they are too young for a dog this massive.
