Adoption fee will be donated to a state corgi rescue. Rehoming in MS/TN/AR area. Male, 6-yr old Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Zwei. Neutered, up to date on shots, crate trained. Definitely an inside dog. We've had him since he was little, as a companion for our older dog, however of late he's become a bully towards her. In addition, he hasn't adapted well to our toddler. He is someone who wants full, undivided attention, including lots of pets and scratches, and will get jealous and nippy towards other dogs who try to get pats. Advise not to home with male dogs. He is prone to territorial marking in home when a male dog is around and WILL attempt to pick fights (he always loses, btw). He is a scaredy cat who hates storms and loud noises, and you'll always find him trying to cuddle when he knows a thunderstorm is en-route. He is also prone to stealing food from kids/tables when he knows you're not paying attention. VERY smart and clever, but also stubborn. He'll chase and attempt to herd cars and farm/lawn equipment, so please be cautious. He had a femoral head removal surgery on the left rear leg earlier this year. Full recovery and back to running at full speed. He needs someone who can give him dedicated attention, without competing with other dogs, pets, or children. He loves hiking and running in the yard, but he's also nervous about loud noises and things he doesn't recognize, so his owner should be active but also mindful of Zwei's inherent cowardice. He loves to fetch and cuddle up on the couch after a fun day. He will approach anyone for love, except for young kids/toddlers who will roughhouse or grab at him. No rehoming fee. We ask that the new family meet us in North MS area, as we're expecting and unable to travel. He will come with his crate, leash, etc. Please comment/email for any questions, pics, etc.
