About Pepper

After much deliberation and extensive consultation with our veterinarian and a behaviorist, we have made the heart-wrenching decision to find a new home for our German Shepherd mix. Pepper, a beautiful 5-year-old German Shepherd mix, has been a member of our family since she was just 12 weeks old. For years, she coexisted peacefully with our other female dog until an unfortunate incident in early April led to escalating tension and aggressive behavior between the two. Despite our best efforts-extensive training, medical evaluations, and pharmaceutical regimens-Pepper and Willow have been unable to coexist harmoniously. Both dogs are thriving individually, but it has become clear that Pepper would do best as the only pet in a loving home. Pepper is a highly intelligent, loyal, and affectionate dog who would flourish in a home with adults or older teens. We feel she would be a great companion for someone who knows the unique temperament of a Shepherd, has some land and/or a fenced-in yard, is patient and gentle, and is willing to work with a sweet but timid dog, who we know will be the best companion to the right person. She would do best with someone who has a strong, caring, quiet personality. We have worked tirelessly to resolve the situation, and although this decision is heartbreaking, we are focused on finding the best possible outcome for both dogs.
