About Chandler

COURTESY POST: FOSTER OR ADOPTER WANTED!!!! This amazing dog, Chandler, was found as a stray about a month ago and his owners could not be found. We are posting him to help one of our amazing volunteers find him a forever home. He is currently at her house temporarily but he is too much for her other dogs who are mostly seniors. Chandler is a 1-year-old, 31 pound Retriever mix (we think!!). He is FULL of puppy energy and will require a home with another playful dog and would be great for a very active person or family who loves to walk, hike and who can keep up with his energy level! He loves to cuddle, so someone has loved him in his previous life. He would do best in a home with a family who is active and can take him places to get his energy out. He is the perfect sized family dog, not too fragile, but not so big you can't handle him. He is a bit shy and scared of humans when he first meets them, but bonds with his human quickly and will be a loyal and loving best friend! He needs someone who is home more than not, as he fiercely loves his human(s) and panics when he can't see them. He loves other dogs but doesn't quite know how to greet them as he can overwhelm them with his friendly puppy excitement��%BD'��%BD|so probably would not be a good fit for an older dog. Chandler will need a secure, fenced yard so that he can fun and play to his hearts content��%BD'��%BD|he would not be suited for apartment or condo living. As with most all young dogs, he will benefit from some obedience training so he can learn how to socialize properly and become the best boy he can be! He hasn't been around kids, but we think he will love them. We don't recommend very small children because he could potentially knock them over with his energy. He hasn't been around cats, but we don't recommend them due to his energy level. Chandler is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
