MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 11-month-old male Chihuahua/Pug/Spaniel mix (DNA confirmed), about 16 pounds and full grown. MEET CRUMBL COOKIES This adorable and sweet dog, nicknamed 'Crumbles', was born at the rescue in September 2023 to momma Wisteria, a Pug/Chihuahua mix. He has a brother Mouse Jr. that he is currently with in foster, and is also brother to Lambie, Flan, Cheesecake, Cr̬me Brulee, and Ricotta. Crumbles is very intelligent. He is food motivated, easy to train and responds to both verbal and hand commands. So far, he's mastered: Sit, Stay, Drop It, Drop Down, Go Upstairs, Get in your Crate - each one took only about a day to learn! Crumbles loves lap time with all of his humans, pets and snuggles and would prefer to sleep with you in your bed, but is *not* a kisser or licker. He greets you when you come home with his big underbite smile and lots of tail wags. He can be in a home with a small yard or no yard as long as he gets in a few daily walks. He has been to the dog park but was a little overwhelmed by all the action and stuck close to his humans. He is timid around strangers in the beginning but will interact quickly with encouragement. He is quiet at home and rarely barks, making him an ideal candidate for a townhome or apartment. Crumbles is very respectful of other dogs and waits for them to initiate play. He gets along well with his fellow foster dogs, does not ever bite or growl, and LOVES to play with all toys, especially loving the stuffies! Needs lots of chew toys and lots of direction around what is an acceptable chew toy-fabric items and anything left out is fair game until he is trained. Does very well in the car. He's still a puppy, and is leash and crate trained, but is still learning not to mark in the house. He is used to being let outside to pee every time he exits his crate, and otherwise, at least every 5-6 hours until he is an adult. He would appreciate a home with older dog-respectful children. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
