About Missy

Newfoundland
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Update: I have someone willing to watch the dogs and my house, as long as this deal doesn't fall through, like others have. Thanks to all for showing interest and offering help. May God bless you all, Dave, Missy and Jesse (my Great Pyrenees) I've been falsely convicted by corrupt cops and courts after my son tried to kill himself and I made a comment that angered the cops because they refused to take action. Missy is a 5 year old pure bred Newfoundland who adjusted well to my dogs but, doesn't like strange dogs when we go for walks. Ideally, I would like to find someone willing to keep her for me for up to one year that I might be in the county jail for allegedly scaring a cop and resisting arrest (without ever being told that I was under arrest). My poor dog did nothing to deserve losing her home, housemate, or care giver. I would prefer to get her back at the end of jail time, if possible and would prefer for her to stay within 100 miles of St. Louis if possible but, I have to put her needs first. Her first owners paid $2,400 for her and then put her in a kennel in the backyard while they let another dog live in the house. I paid nothing for her and gave her a much better home - Proving that adoption fees don't guarantee a good home. Until I got her at age 2, she had never been allowed to run free through a yard - she had been confined to a kennel or kept on a leash. My first 2 hard years of retraining and rehab with her have helped tremendously but, she still has the strange dog issue when going for walks. She will pull and growl. She is on the short side and overweight but, happy. I believe she was deprived of ample food as a puppy, and that this contributed to a ravenous appetite which has since settled down. She is spayed, chipped and up to date on all shots, as well as on heartworm preventative and Frontline. With contract for her return later, she comes with an expense account. If I can't find anyone willing to return her later, she will still come with food, and current meds. A thorough home check is mandatory, as well as neighbor interviews. I would rather have her euthanized than to let her suffer again like she did before she adopted me.
