About PANCHO

***NEEDS FOREVER HOME*** Currently in Boise boarding kennels Meet adorable, happy, well-balanced 3 to 5 year old, 25 lb Jack Russell Terrier/Cattle Dog (red heeler) mix PANCHO! He is extremely soft and may not even shed! PANCHO is very funny, personable and loving. He would be a wonderful addition to someone's life. PANCHO is both dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and people-friendly�%9D%A4��%8F We already know that PANCHO needs to lose a few pounds, but he walks so nicely on leash that he is well on his way to his ideal weight. PANCHO loves people - he is incredibly loving and loves meeting new people. He loves to go for walks or adventures and snuggle on the couch with his people. PANCHO is treat motivated (hence the weight issues) and is a smart boy so could be trained up! He knows his name, so comes when called (unless he's reacting to something) and he knows 'Sit.' He also knows 'Good Boy' (when you say that, he will wag his tail like crazy). PANCHO has done well in his crate (no whining during bedtime) and he is house-trained. He doesn't seem to exhibit signs of separation anxiety although he would prefer to stay with his people....who wouldn't? PANCHO is a polite dog, not not destructive at all. He is not a flight risk. he really just follows his people around the house and lays down in whatever room they are in. PANCHO's capacity for exercise and activity will grow as he gets in shape and loses some more weight, so his ideal forever home will be one where he gets walks and/or can run around in the backyard with maybe some other dogs. PANCHO also can be reactive - partially an effect of never being socialized and might be also because of his breed. He is really friendly with people and dogs, but upon meeting new people/dogs, he can bark a lot as he is getting introduced. His ideal forever home might be somewhere with less reactive elements (like not near a common walking trail where people will walk by the yard with their dogs, for example).
