*****We are Good Catch Dog Rescue. The dogs in our care are fostered by either ourselves or close friends. All of our dogs are vaccinated and on preventatives. Nayla's entire life was spent outdoors tied up in some form or another in a backyard with minimal access to everything that brought her joy. The first 5 years of this old girl's life was spent in a small pen with no shade. A dilapidated doghouse served as her only shelter from the sun, the wind and the damp winter cold. The only person she knew as hers gave up on her on her 5th year. He moved away and left her behind in the care of neighbors. She still smiled at passersby and wagged her tail as if to say, 'don't forget me, I'm over here'. Nayla began to be cared for by 2 amazing humans: Joanne and Kathy, who for the next 6 years would see her at least twice a day. They fed her, walked her, spoke to her like she mattered. They relocated her to under a shade tree at her abandoned home where they provided a bigger and better doghouse and a run that led to an old garage where she could get out of inclimate weather. Nayla couldn't go home with them, she's dog selective and these ladies had too many dogs to be able to keep them separated from her. This was the best solution until one day, a conversation between those ladies and Good Catch happened and we made a plan to free Nayla. After 11 years of waiting to be saved, Nayla has come indoors. She sleeps peacefully on her fluffy bed in her foster's kitchen. 12 other dogs reside on the other side of the gate that separates her from them. She likes 1 of them and tolerates a few others but growls at the rest. At this age, we don't expect Nayla to come around. She is who she is and what we know to be a fact is she's a people lover. Every day for the last 6 years Nayla got walked by her 2 mommas. She wagged her tail at neighbors and stopped to get pets by the local kids playing outside. She even got to go bowling some nights where she'd sit and observe and just be. We're looking for a home for Nayla where she can live out the rest of her days indoors without a care in the world. No cats, no dogs and no tie outs. A fenced in yard to give her boundaries and a person to give her love. We don't think that's too much to ask. Nayla is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and has been given a 12-month Proheart shot for a year of heartworm prevention. She is a big senior dog who's lived a hard life outdoors and her back legs tremble. We started her on once/month Librela shots to ease her arthritis. Today, Nayla resides in her 3rd momma's home in Marion, Texas. We look forward to finding her forever family who will continue to invest in her and make up for all of the time she's lost in being part of a conversation, a holiday, a cozy fire in the living room, a Netflix series on the couch, a nap on her person's bed and most importantly, a family. We realize this is a short commitment. Nayla doesn't have as many years left to love as our younger pups and dogs do. Good Catch will waive her adoption fee if her adopters cover the cost to transport her which is $250. We only use trusted partners in transporting out of Texas. We know she's worth every penny and the reward of knowing that you could be the person that gave her everything she deserves is priceless. We only use trusted transport partners to deliver our dogs to their forever families.
