About Izzy

Izzy is a sweet boy who needs someone that's adept at rehabilitation. We think he was abused by a man in the past. Misuse of the collar is most likely. He's great with women and mostly ok with men. He's a cuddler, and will get underfoot. Needs a home with people who have good balance. Knocked my elderly mom down just being excited and underfoot. He'll do anything she asks though and is house trained. Doesn't like for a man to touch his collar. May bite a man who does. He's really a good boy in spite of his trauma. He just needs a chance with sturdier wards. He was found abandoned and injured. He was taken to a vet for treatment and ID. He was treated, vaccinated, and neutered. The family that chipped him refused to collect him. Said they'd given him away. He seems to have been abandoned by those folks too. He really is a dear when he feels safe and loved. Would be a great companion for a single female looking for a medium sized guard dog. Recommend Cesar Milan style training for dog and human. My mom loves him, and my dad will do whatever makes her happy, so he's being well taken care of. He'sa trip hazard for my mom, though. She's tiny and not as stable as she once was. She's well into the age that falling could be very serious. I want her to be happy, but I also want her to be safe. I'd wrap her in bubble wrap if she'd let me. I'd take him if I didn't have cats already! We just want him to go to a home where he will be treated well, given the compassion needed to heal his trauma, and won't be an unintentional safety hazard to his furever person/people.
