MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large red Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. He is sweet and affectionate with people he knows but is inclined to be tense and suspicious with strangers , especially if he is in a confined space. Blitz is nervous when crated or in a small run. As such, a local or in-state adoption (he is in the Los Angeles area) would be desirable because crate transport would be difficult. Blitz gets along well with other dogs-- he is currently living happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog-- his foster dad really loves him. Doberman experience is a huge plus in his adoption. Please email for an application.
