About Ivory

Meet adoptable Ivory! Ivory's story is a sad one. She was a dog who had a family, but simply wasn't cared for. Ivory has spent most of her life free roaming outdoors, eating out of trash cans to survive and having litter after litter. Thankfully, we were able to have her previous owners surrender her, and things are finally looking up for her! It is SO SAD to imagine Ivory having to live so far away from compassion most of her life as she is the most loyal dog we've ever had in the shelter. When we are claiming or feeding, she is right by our side like a little side kick. Even her previous owners noted her need to stay close. Despite having never been walked on a leash, she has picked up on it really well. We'd say Ivory is pretty low energy and gentle. She is polite and doesn't even jump up when excited. She has lived most of her life just existing, and she deserves a chance at real love after all she's faced. Ivory is dog friendly and would be find houses with kids. Ivory weighs around 60 pounds and is about five years old. She has been vaccinated, treated for fleas/ticks and has tested positive for heartworm disease.
