My sister passed away in July, leaving behind Roxy, her sweet 10-year old female pit bull. Our family in NC has been struggling for 2 months to find Roxy a new home. Roxy is beloved by my family and children, but we can't adopt her, because we moved to Poland last year, where import lf pitbulls is prohibited. Roxy loved to snuggle in bed at night next to my sister, and always stayed close during the day. My sister used to carry her in a backpack on errands. Roxy loves all watersports and is an excellent swimmer, rides on kayaks, paddleboards and canoes. She gets scared of car rides, but can be picked up and gently set into the car. When Roxy walks, she stayed always close to my sister, matching her pace and never pulling. My sister had two other, more active hounds, and Roxy coralled them into line. She gets along well with other dogs. Roxy is spayed. She is fit at 50lb. She is quiet and slow-moving, but will enjoy a short game of fetch or frisbee. When off-leash, she stays close by. Roxy doesn't bark much, and shows little interest in other dogs when taking a walk. I hope Roxy can find a gentle, quiet home for her older years. She is a gentle soul.
