About George

Meet George, a sweet and healthy 4.5-year-old Lab and Catahoula mix looking for a loving forever home! George is neutered, in great health, and loves his daily 3-4 mile walks. He's a cuddle bug at heart and adores spending time with his people. George does have some anxiety, mainly related to being alone, but with the right environment and care, he thrives. He's on daily medication (fluoxetine) to help manage his anxiety and takes gabapentin on stressful days. Though he can be reactive in certain situations, George is a smart dog who just needs a patient owner to help him work through his triggers. He's leash-trained, uses a gentle leader, and does well on his walks. While George hasn't had formal training, he's eager to learn with the right guidance. He gets along with most dogs after a little adjustment time and is friendly with adults (though he prefers people to be mindful when approaching his head). George has been around kids, but his playful energy sometimes gets the better of him, especially when there are snacks or toys involved! George would do best in a home with a yard or outdoor space and with someone who has the time to invest in his training and care. He's a loyal companion who's just waiting for the right match.
