About Glen

We adopted him from a rough situation at roughly 1 year old and has been our best friend for the last 3 years. He loves to run, play tug, and use his nose to find treats. When we adopted him, he was extremely submissive. He had spent the 1st week with us hiding behind our couch. However, over time (with plenty of ice cream and puperoni), we earned his trust and began introducing him to the world. He has since invited many more people into his tight trust circle, but naturally is still cautious of anyone new. The reason why we are looking for a new home is my wife and I recently had a child. We believed we could make this relationship work because Glen has been great with our new baby. He frequently licks his face, and seems to have genuinely bonded with him. However, Glen has regressed slightly since the introduction of the baby. He bared his teeth on two separate occasions to our 4 year old niece. Once when she touched his toys and then another time when she walked by him laying under our kitchen table. Finally, what pushed us to ultimately find him a new home was Glen bit my wife. Glen was sitting to await his dinner and my wife walked behind him and must have startled hm. He turned around almost instinctually and bit my wife's hand. We would classify the bite as a class 3 bite, where he latched for 1-2s and punctured the skin. It saddens us tremendously to make this post, but unfortunately Glen is not a dog to raise around children. We desperately want to find him a new home because he is a loving animal who is loyal and faithful. His happiness is contagious and his growth from being abandoned as a puppy is Puerto Rico is inspirational.
