About Charlotte

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Ajax, ON Charlotte is an 2 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix and weighs 52 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Charlotte is fearful of the environment outdoors and takes time to warm to strangers. She will need an understanding home where she can learn to accept new challenges slowly. She is good with children (10+, caution suggested for younger children due to her breed), and also good with dogs and cats. She would excel with another low or medium energy dog as this seems to bring her out of her shell. Charlotte is housebroken, but isn't crate-trained. She bit the next door neighbor's child when she was 10 months old; the owner had a shared porch with their neighbor. The neighbor's daughter was going inside of their home and Charlotte was barking at her from behind. The woman swiped and Charlotte bit her. A week later, Charlotte was tied up in the yard. A woman was pulling a wagon. Charlotte pulled the chain out of the ground and chased the woman. Due to these instances, she has to be walked with a muzzle in the town of Ajax. Charlotte currently shows no indication of aggression and does not seem to have any desire to bite, preferring to retreat from stressful situations. The owner is surrendering her because of personal health issues. She needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Charlotte, please contact the owner listed below.
