About Bear

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Handsome Bear is a Wheaten Terrier mix who has been with us for over 1.5 years and is now about 4.5 years old. He originally came to us because his owner could no longer care for him. Bear has learned a lot of new rules, but he still needs a special home. Bear is a big boy, weighing around 65 lbs, and he won't walk on a leash. He is extremely strong and a secure fenced-in yard is essential and mandatory for him. He also needs a cat-free home, as he is NOT a fan of kitties. Bear has separation anxiety, he is used to someone being with him all the time. He would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time because he loves being close to his person. Bear will need a slow introduction to help him adjust to his new home and set him up for success. We are confident that the right home is out there, and we are patient, knowing he will find it. Until then, he is happy, safe, and content with us. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies. Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada. Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application.
