18 Month old Male Australian Cattle Dog Blue Heeler, 51 lbs Neutered and up to date on all vaccinations He loves people! Great with Adults (male and female) and kids. We're looking to rehome our ACD. We love him and have tried to make this work, we have decided that it's best for him and our family to find him a home that will be able to meet his high energy. Although we walk him daily, play with him and sometimes run him but he needs a bigger space and more attention than what we can currently provide for him. He grew up with another smaller dog and a cat. Gets along well with our other dog but does not respect boundaries when she no longer wants to play. He sometimes tries to chase the cat but other times they can be in the same room with no issues. We have introduced him (slow intros) to several other dogs and does well and is playful however does try to assert dominance by humping them (Male and female)Very smart, high energy dog, and cuddly. When he was younger he did well in the dog park but hasn't been back since the humping started. He is stubborn and very much in his teenage phase. One hurdle that will need training to be corrected is that he is reactive to other dogs when we go on walks. As soon as he sees a dog he starts to bark and is very difficult to be redirected (doesn't care for treats). When in the car he does well until he sees other dogs or big trucks like a semi and barks. He is also very agile and recently learned how to climb a 6 foot privacy fence. Although that is something to be proud of it is not something that we can deal with as our fence borders 4 other neighbors. He knows the commands; sit, stay, lay down, place, wait, roll over, leave it. Great house manners. When cooking in the kitchen he lays down and understands to stay away from stove and dishwasher. Occasionally will try to see what's on the counter. Can stay in place when guests come to visit. When he is very excited he occasionally jumps but able to correct behavior. He is not food reactive. He sometimes playfully nips our hands when he gets overly excited but is able to calm down and stop. The perfect home for Henry would have ample space for him to run and play. I believe he would benefit to have a play mate that he can meet his energy demands. Please message me with any questions of interested. Adopted in North Carolina (breeder unknown).
