About Monty

This handsome blue guy is Montgomery (Monty for short), a Cattle Dog/Border collie mix. He was born on 9/28/22 and weighs about 55 pounds. Monty is house and crate trained. He knows his basic commands including sit and 'gentle' when taking a treat. Monty is excited to meet new people. He is also learning not to jump up in greeting. Due to that, he isn't a fit for small kids who could be knocked over. Monty lives with a cat and would be okay with a dog savvy cat who knows how to tell a herder to chill. Monty can be timid meeting other dogs, so isn't a fit for a dog park or a home with lots of dogs. He is totally fine as an only dog and he really adores whomever he sees as his people. Monty is a ton of fun. He loves to play fetch with the ball, even jumping in the pool to get it. He is a good travel and adventure pal who is good on leash and good in the car. Monty doesn't like people to take treats and food from him. If you give him a bone, just let him keep it. Easy to manage. Plus, Monty loves to cuddle. He is a snuggler who likes to be right up against you. This kid is going to be a wonderful sidekick for someone fun and active. Monty is neutered and current on vaccines. He is located in Folsom. Ca. Adopters must be able to meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
