Approximate DOB 2/12/2024 Approximate Adult Size - Small (about 10 lbs when picked up- he will be weighed again for his neuter) History- We saw a post on FB from another rescue down south that they were dealing with a hoarding situation and needed help from other rescues t take some of the dogs in. Since we had just brought in 7 I really didn't have the space so I didn't respond. But I went to bed thinking about these dogs and asked God for a sign how I could help. Crazy! That morning I woke up to a text - our boarding kennel had a cancellation so I pretty much took it as a sign. I messaged the other rescue still hoping that all the dogs had found rescues to accept them. Sadly the rescue replied that all the local rescues were full but some were able to squeeze a few in but they were reaching out to surrounding out of state rescues for assistance. I told them if all else fails we could take 4-5 if they had no other options. Well, they responded that they had a bunch left so we agreed for them to send some up on transport. That weekend Kimber, Jessie, Max, and Bandit made their way to us. Luckily another rescuer was at the transport also receiving dogs from the same case and he offered to help me move mine from the transporters crates to mine as mine were older dogs and more of a flight risk if they got loose. So here they are we made it home and we've been working with them on socialization. They get their medical this Friday and then will be looking for their happily ever afters. Temperament- Still a little shy when meeting new people but overall he is super sweet, loves attention, and is super playful. He was the youngest one we took from the hoarding case and so at only 6 months old he made progress really fast and is loving attention and playtime. Energy Level- This sweet guy is a ball of energy who wants nothing more than to sit with his loved one for cuddles kisses. He loves his toys and is just the happiest puppy ever. Please keep in mind all puppies no matter how sweet and quiet and mellow still need time, love, training, and playtime to burn energy and be the best puppies they can be. If you are not prepared for sharp nails and teeth and a lot of training, messes, and work then please consider an adult dog who is already trained. Dogs/Cats- Loves all the other dogs and will be meeting the cats soon Housetrained- He is currently using a dog door perfectly to go out to potty. However, and this is huge, we are recommending a few things to prevent unwanted frustration. A belly band in the house when he is loose and not being watched as he does mark. You see when dogs come from a hoarding case with 30 dogs all inside with no way to go out to potty and nobody spayed or neutered they all start marking everything in the home!! I love this boy to pieces and I am hoping with his upcoming neuter it will slow it down. However, due to growing up in that environment with no correction for it his whole life and with so many other dogs in a house all marking he probably should not be in a home with other male dogs otherwise it will definitely be a competition and you may always have this issue. He will have less of a desire to mark if there are no other males to compete with. He should be either crated or leashed to his new owner at all times initially so marking can be quickly caught and corrected to prevent it from becoming a habit for him in his new home. We are correcting it here but this is a really really engrained behavior in males already and then for them to grow up in a home full of other dogs all marking it just becomes so so engrained in their mentality to mark everything that is not flat. He will mark my rakes, scoop buckets, bedding, kennel gates, bowls, pretty much everything. Upon saying that it can be fixed as long as it is corrected every single time and like I said make sure you have a belly band at least initially that only comes off when he is outside or in his crate. This will also correct him as he will not like the feeling of wetting his pants so to speak. This little guy is super cute and I believe he will be adopted quickly. He is just such a cute, sweet, happy boy full of joy and love. We just mention the marking so whoever adopts him isn't shocked and can prepare for it before even taking him home so the adoption is successful. We would rather be transparent and risk him staying with us longer than being adopted and returned and adopted and returned over and over because adopters aren't aware of this issue in so many dogs from hoarding cases. He would love a home of his own that can catch him up on the love and attention he never got as a baby. He loves fetch and toys and love and givi
