Dre is a 3.5 year old male Blue Heeler. He has been with us since 8 weeks old and loves me, my husband and our 4 year old daughter. He is also comfortable with the group of friends we have had and he has known his whole life. He has lived with our 3 cats and female lab mix. He gets along great with all of our animals and loves to cuddle with them. It's unknown how he would be around other animals he is not familiar with as he hasn't been introduced to many outside the home. I've also listed unknown temperament around people as aside from the people he knows, he has not been introduced to many outside of the home. He is fear aggressive while at the vet and has growled at people in the lobby while on a leash held by me. My opinion is that he is protective of me. We recently needed to move to a smaller space and he does not have the yard he is used to having. If you're familiar with ACD, you know they need to have somewhere they are able to get their energy out to curb potential behaviors. He has never bit anyone but since moving here, the couple times that someone new has come over, he has growled at them. He is verbally redirectable but I fear that our life change will continue to have a negative affect on him. We aren't able to give him what the breed needs and this is not what I wanted to come to but, I feel I am doing him a disservice by not giving him the opportunity to find a family who can do better for him. He knows a couple basic commands like sit, paw, off and is crate trained.
