About Archie

Adoption Fee: $350
Border Collie
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

This handsome gent is Archie, a 6 years old Border Collie who weighs 60 pounds. This guy is so smart. He knows:Sit, stay, down, come, wait, back up, heel, let's go, out, leave it, enough, done, free, off, and down. He knows 'clean up' if any food drops or spills, if he's getting too far ahead, plus bring it, and closer. He loves to learn. Archie also knows how to pick up his leash if it's dropped: just point and say get it. He'll pick up sunglasses and keys with that same command and hand them to you. He also knows how to bow.Plus he is house and crate trained. Archie absolutely adores fetching. That is the way to his heart. He prefers that new people give him time to say hello. And starting with a game of fetch is the way to do that. Click on the red YouTube button to watch him fetch. Archie has nipped a few people who have ignored his preference and reached to pet him when he signaled that he wasn't ready. He has recently graduated from a board and train program and is more patient now, but truly just wants to be loyal to his people and not have new folks force friendliness. Archie just wants to have his space respected. Archie is fine with large and small dogs in the home with proper introduction. He is a good boy at dog daycare. Once in a while when on a walk he can show some leash reactivity. Archie is good in the car and makes a great hiking or travel pal. For his person, Archie is a love. He enjoys belly rubs, plus booty and ears scratches. He likes to put his head in between your legs and get pets. He's a whole body wagger when greeting his loved ones. For someone herder savvy who has a quiet household, this guy will be a gem. He is not available to homes with kids, or busy homes who like to entertain lots of guests. Archie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Los Angeles and ready to meet adopters who are able to come here to meet. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
