About Rusty

Rusty Rusty is Dash's older brother. He has a strong brownish coat 'rusty' colored and golden eyes with a bit of blue in one of them. At the moment he is overweight and probably needs to lose 20-30 pounds. Rusty can be more of the anxious brother and can also be timid around new people but also is extremely loyal and bonds closely with his owners . He prefers to be near his owners often and will stay near you throughout the day. When walked consistently and fed properly he is in great shape. Over the last couple years Rusty would eat his anxiety from not getting walks while in addition getting fed human food. I believe he can lose the weight with a good owner. He is truly one of the sweetest animals I have ever met. He will want to lick your face and be rubbed on his tummy once he gets to know you. He likes to sleep near his owner. He pants quite a bit, what I believe is from anxiety and being overweight. With the right owner I think he will become healthier mentally and physically. Overall, he is just a sweetheart and one of the most sensitive animals I've ever known. On walks he likes to pull and be the leader of the 'sled'. He will also chase the shadow of butterflies on the ground. He used to pull me with his brother Dash on the longboard however I hadn't been able to do that in the last year because of the heat in Texas and his weight issue. That is their favorite thing to do. He is trained to 'sit' and 'down'. He is also starting to be able to walk off leash but will roam, only come back once his name is called.
