Good looks don't always translate into confidence - Newt here is proof of that! He's a nervous boy who doesn't seem to have spent much time around people before coming into our shelter. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, but he is a nervous boy! If he's able to Newt usually tries to keep some distance between himself and people. He will let you pet/touch him, but you can tell he doesn't know what to think of it. If he's not on leash he's usually running nervous laps in our play yard. He just needs practice with this whole socializing thing! Newt is a 5YO German Shepherd mix who came into the shelter on 8/13/24. He weighs 57 lbs.
