Hey there, everyone! I'm Chewbacca, a.k.a. Chewy, a sweet, gentle, adorable chocolate Labrador mix fella with a white locket who was born in January 2024. My upright ears indicate that I may have some Doberman blood coursing through my veins. At seven months old, I weighed 40 pounds, but I could weigh 60-75 pounds when I'm full grown. Just call me easy-to-please because I get along with everybody - adults, kids, and other dogs. I absolutely adore playing with my hooman and canine buddies, am leash-trained, and don't bark except when it's necessary. Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America's most popular dog breed. We're friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a large dog. Like most labs, expect me to be a very loving, companionable housemate who bonds with the whole family as well as who socializes well with neighbor dogs and hoomans alike. But don't mistake my easygoing personality for low energy: labs are enthusiastic athletes who require regular exercise to keep us physically and mentally fit. I'd do best in a home with an active family who will take me out for long walks, jogging, or marathon games of fetch at the dog park. You'll get bonus points if you have a pool! A Good Samaritan found me with no collar, tags, or chip as I aimlessly wandered the mean streets of Houston. Fortunately they rescued me and turned to Miss Donna to help them find me a wonderful, loving home the second time around. I'm so relieved that I kissed the hardscrabble life of fending for myself good-bye, and I'm already anticipating my loving new family! Could that be you?
