Name: RUBY Age: DOB 06/07/2018 Breed: Brindle Shepherd Mix, 57 pounds Sex: Female (spayed) Location: Fayetteville, GA Ruby needs loving help! She has been through it and really could use some love in her life. She is absolutely adorable, sweet, and loving. She needs a chance with a family who can accommodate her special needs. Vet Info: No HW test. She had very bad mange which is much improved but not healed. Her ears were also infected and she is continuing on her medication. She hops on her rear end which suggests she probably has hip dysplasia and arthritis. Her eyes have healed but still some mucus in her right eye and decreased tear production due to chronic infection. She sees as best she can and seems to have some mild dementia. She has an unregistered chip so it is believed she was not taken care of, very neglected, then got really sick so they dumped her. Owner reports: Ruby is a stray picked up by a couple that couldn't keep her. She had mange very bad. The shelter was going to euthanize her because of the condition she was in. Rescue would not take her until shelter placed 10 day hold so Ruby was doomed either way. I already have six rescue dogs. We have placed her on Facebook, Nextdoor, Humane Society of Fayette and other outlets. She is an old gal, about 11 yrs old, just needs a loving home so she can live out her life happier than she has ever been. Ruby is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is said to be house broken and leash trained. She is the best dog ever. She is easy going, just walks around never bothers anything. Goes out doggie door to do her business. A joy to have around, just wants love and petting. She has dry eyes and I have medicine for that. I don't think she sees as well as she could, but gets around fine. Ruby cannot hear. She has some hip dysplasia as she is about 11 years old but gets around fine. Her hair is growing back from the mange she had and is looking so much better. Can anyone help Ruby? **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
