Max is a sweet, scared boy that lived on the streets of North St. Louis for almost a year. I had to trap him to bring him home before a big freeze. I brought him up to date on vaccinations and put him through heartworm treatment. He is anxious and gets quite spicy but is intensely loving, seeking lots of physical contact and reassurance. He has strong cattle dog instincts, however, and has seriously scuffled with my two other male dogs. He is always OK with my female dog. I do not know his temperament around children but I wouldn't reccomend it unless you have strong experience with cattle dogs. He gets spicy when I come home from work and needs to be separated from other dogs until he calms. This is no doubt a symptom of his past abandonment. He is responding quickly to this calming routine, but I'm not an experienced trainor. He will sit on command and is highly food motivated. He would be the perfect best friend for someone who understands his breed as well as his personal history, cuddles him, watches out for his triggers, and exercises the demons out of him! (See what I did there?) I love him so much and wish him the best.
