This beautiful lady is Black Pearl (she goes by Pearl, but we've called her Black Pearl just to tell her apart from our other adoptable cat, who also has the name Pearl.) Pearl came to us from a hoarding situation, along with her friend, Vedder, and they are really hoping to find a home together. These two are quite bonded and rely on each other for comfort. They are looking for a quiet home where they can stay together and where they might have some other cats to play with. Pearl is only about 8 months old and is more brave than Vedder is. She is always the first to explore new places and to open up to new people. Pearl is super chatty when she greats her people, demanding attention. She loves to sit in her foster mom's lap for cuddles, and she has a great purr. Vedder is 1 year old is a bit more reserved than Pearl is. He relies on Pearl for confidence and her presence helps Vedder open up faster than when he's on his own. He sees her getting love and then he starts rubbing up against her, as well as his foster mom's legs. Vedder is very hand-shy, so does well with very slow movements. Since he's still learning to enjoy human affection, Vedder gets overstimulated easily. When he's getting pet, he starts to get a bit mouthy so we have to give him litter breaks in between the love. Due to this, these two will need to be in a cat-experienced home. Vedder really enjoys wand toys, so his foster mom is working on bonding with Vedder through play. Since they came from a high-density cat home, these two are very comfortable around other cats; they understand how to get along with different personality types. They both integrated well into their current foster home where there are several other kitties. There is a dog in their foster home, and they don't love him, but they don't hate him either. They would do OK in a home with a dog as long as it gives them space. They would likely do OK with an older, quiet dog that ignores them. These two are not comfortable with children, but would be fine with respectful teens. Pearl has short hair, but Vedder has medium-length hair, so he will need a home with someone who is willing to groom him as needed. Once he settles in a bit, grooming may be a good way to bond with him.
