Ruby is a 3.5 year old spayed California White and definitely the biggest one we've ever had! She is very close to the size of a small flemish giant. She was actually previously adopted from us with her bonded mate Sully, and they lived there for almost a year. They were returned to us because they could no longer be cared for properly. When we received them, they were very obese and were placed on a dietary plan immediately. The bonded mate unfortunately passed away due to lacking bodily functions and the vet diagnosed the issue as a result from the obesity putting too much strain on his body. Ruby has done very well with her diet and has lost 2 whole pounds of roundness! She still has an insane appetite and will eat anything in sight so her new family will have to regulate her portions. Ruby loves to chew and will destroy all the wooden toys you get for her and if there aren't any she will find something herself. This is a great habit for healthy teeth and keeping herself entertained throughout the day. Since losing weight, she is much better with being held and did great at the nursing home with us! She was around a dog, cat, and children in her last home but did not prefer too much interaction. Her last vet check up showed no issues and her health has improved with the weight loss! We are very happy with her litterbox skills and she does great with free roaming!
