Winslow got a rough start. We bought him from a cattle dog group in central Texas three years ago when he was a pup. Immediately, he got sick and it turned out he had distemper. My adult son nursed the dog to health but it took weeks. The next few months, he was kept in one room in the house because he was too aggressive with the cats. We finally got him through that and now he chases the cats but doesn't hurt them. Then, we got some contruction done in the house that took three months so Winslow had to stay with my adult son again isolated in his room. Now, over the past several months, he has bitten my husband twice. Once in the leg and the second in the face bc my husband was trying to kiss the dog on the snout. Needless to say, my husband wants to rehome Winslow. We don't want to euthanize him and he's a good boy for the most part. He also doesn't like anyone but my son to dry him off after swimming in the pool. He will snap at you if you take away anything he's playing with. The vet said she doesn't believe he qualifies as being aggressive bc everything she sees him, he's very compliant. If no one can take him, we're thinking about giving him some doggy mood enhancers. He's been raised in the suburbs and he's an inside dog. He collapses after about a mile in the summer heat too. Thank you for reading this. We love him and want a good place for him.
