About Jake

This striking guy is Jake. He is a Cattle Dog/ mix who weighs about 65 pounds. Jake is 8 years old. He is very much loved and sadly recent family medical issues mean that he needs a new home. Jake is a good boy. He knows: Sit, leave it, outside, no bark, answers to his name and comes back, your house (kennel), give me kisses, give me cuddles, nite nite, and Jake's food (at meal time). He is house and crate trained as well. As with many herders, Jake likes a moment to check out new people and dogs before becoming friends. He is even good with older kids and has been known to actually play with 4 polite smaller dogs when he regularly visits a family member's house. Plus, Jake is good with cats! Jake loves catch and balls. He also loves running in the fields and comes with good recall. He has also been a good hiking buddy, even though he does pull on leash. Jake loves car rides and road trips. He doesn't love the sound of guns or emergency vehicles. Jake is a cuddler and he loves snuggles. He loves to play doggie puzzles with treats hidden in them or treat games where treats are hidden for him to find around the house. He is a loyal guy and ready to be a best friend in his new home. Jake is neutered, microchipped, and current on his rabies vaccine. He is located in Clovis, CA, and ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
