About Luna

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Luna is 7.5 years old and weighs about 75 lbs. She has been ours since she was a small pup. She is well trained, trained by Dusty Trieschmann of Clearly Connected Canines. She is highly treat motivated. She has incontinence issues, but receives hormone pills that keep it under control (PROIN 50 MG 2x a day). She also has allergies and receives a shot about once every 2-3 months (Cytopoint). She is otherwise in good health. She loves to play with other dogs, but gets carried away and can't be trusted not to get too aggressive. She is the same with cats. She does best with a regular walk of a mile or more in length. She is kennel trained and place trained. She is trained in the Leerburg method. If you know it, then you understand her training. She loves being with her people, but here she is often isolated from the other dogs and consequently people. She wears a training collar and it has a shock element, but is only used on occasion, never with any frequency. If her new owner keeps up her training she will be an excellent pet, particularly if you are able to walk her regularly and spend lots of time with her. She must be heeled when walking with a slightly loose leash. She isn't very cuddly, but does occasionally like cuddles. We love her, but just can't keep her. She does love a big yard, but can't be allowed to run the fence and bark, it amps up her aggressiveness. She would rather be inside with her people than outside alone. She has never bitten a human, but has bitten dogs. She hasn't been around any children except for short stints and with heavy supervision. I wouldn't want her around small children just in case. She will growl when she is uncomfortable. She is a great dog, and it breaks my heart to give her up. My husband can no longer walk her, and I have had trouble getting out with her this season.
