About Gunnar

German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Hi there, I have a full blooded/AKC Male (neutered) German Shepherd, that I rehomed from another man. He has turned out to not be a good fit for us, and the man is now no where to be found. I have tried every avenue I can think of to find him a new home. I don't want to surrender him to the city, as I fear they will put him down, due to a bite incident. When we first brought him home, my son had him out on his leash, showing him to the neighbors. A man walked behind them and Gunnar turned around and bit the man on his calf. Yes it broke the skin. But that was there was too it, no further aggression, no viscous mauling. It was him being protective in a new place, over his new human. He is very much an Alpha male. I have a female shepherd and a dachshund. Gunnar came from this same type of family dynamic. They had a doberman and a schnauzer. He is NOT good with cats. With all that said, he is a great dog. well behaved for the most part, responds. to simple commands. 'Sit' Shake' Laydown' with some more focused training he'd be a really great companion animal or service dog/
