About Summer

Hello friends! My name is Summer and I'm a big velcro baby. I love snuggling on the couch or in bed. I also love being an only child. Unfortunately I have two fur siblings and one new human sibling. I don't like sharing my toys and food so this is not good. I get really feisty when my siblings take my toys or wander too close to my food bowl. It makes momma nervous! I would be happier in a home where I am my parents only love and I can get all of the attention. I listen well and am crate trained. I'm super healthy with clear genetic testing. I'm happy to lounge on the couch or go on long walks. I could probably use more walks; the vet says I need to lose a few pounds. -Summer As her introduction implies, Summer displays resource guarding of food and toys. We have tried several tactics to help this, but she still growls and snaps at my small dog at the most unpredictable times. I have a new baby and with crawling on the horizon, I can't trust Summer to not act the same way towards my baby. I can't take the risk that my baby would crawl towards her food or try to play with a dog toy and Summer snaps at him. She's protective of food and toys, but is otherwise a great and lovable dog. She used to sleep in bed with us and has gone out downtown with us many times. She just needs a home with her own space and no small children.
