About Roux (Roo)

Hi there! We are a bonded pair, smaller mother-daughter GSP duo Roux (Roo) and Gris Gris (Gree Gree). We are registered purebred GSP's. Roux, aka mom, is 5 years old and Gris, aka daughter, is 3 years old. We are both spayed and microchipped. Our family just welcomed twins. They've come to realize that they just can't give us the time and attention we need to be really happy. So, we are looking for a new home and family. Preferably a family that has lots of time for us to go on fun outdoor adventures together. We're happiest together which means we are a package deal! We are typical GSP's: intelligent, curious about everything, active, and happy dogs. We're both house broken, great listeners, and quick learners. We have a good understanding of basic commands like: come, sit, stay, bed, lay, leave it, and eat. We can be food motivated and respond better when treats are involved. Both of us could be easily trained to hunt and have a deep hunting pedigree. Mom is extremely instinctual with no training and daughter honors mom's point. We were both crate trained although we're now accustomed to free range of the house when our family is gone. We are prey driven and spend a lot of time mesmerized by squirrels, deer, and birds through the window and subsequently stalking them in our yard when we are outside. We also love other dogs of all sizes and breeds. In fact, if we have to be boarded we prefer free range boarding with other dogs to being confined to a solitary kennel. We are not skittish around loud noises: fireworks, vacuums, sirens, thunderstorms, babies crying, or gunshots, nothing seems to bother us. Speaking of babies, we are both great around kids and babies, we have been curious about the new additions to our family but leave them alone. We love a good game of tag or fetch with toddlers and older children. We are extremely active and need a big fenced yard, we're trained to an invisible fence, and someone to take us on adventures. We would love someone who is also active or will take us to a big open space or dog park to run. A small backyard or a family with a sedentary lifestyle just isn't enough for our energy levels. We're great swimmers and love going to the river where we can be entertained for hours. We love to be in the water! 'Fishing', fish stalking, is one of our favorite pastimes! However, when the day is done we prefer nothing more than curling up on our bed together, and resting inside with you. Please understand this move is a big deal for us and our family. We're leaving the only home we've ever known and looking for our forever home together. We hope your heart and home have a place for us and promise to repay you with years of loyalty and love.
