Courtesy Posting: CODE RED AT PHOENIX, AZ! ID #A4992114 - MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE, EAST- RESCUE ONLY (NHO) - NEEDS FOSTER TOO - 'SNOWY' A FEMALE 44 lb, 4 yr CHOW SURRENDERED TO THE SHELTER after having her only 2.5 weeks and outside on an apartment porch in this heat! NOW ON DEADLINE FOR 7/28 TO COMMIT. She is RESCUE ONLY which mean she can't be adopted from the shelter directly, and WE NEED A CHOW SAVVY FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT AND OR A RESCUE TO SAVE HER. Pls contact Robin with questions or interest, as shared posts and comments may not been seen Emergency/soon to be euth listed! We are in urgent need of finding a chow savvy foster and rescue for this poor, petite female chow who was dumped by someone who only had her 2.5 weeks and admittedly kept her outside on their porch despite how hot it is. They reported she was people selective and thus do not seem to understand the breed, or that no dog should be outside in summer! They said she ' growls and barks at adult, solicits attention and sniffs/seeks petting from older child'. Now, because of an irresponsible home, she is on a short deadline, soon to be euthanized. The shelter made her Rescue Only where she can only be pulled by a New Hope Partner. On top of this, the shelter used a catch pole at intake and cut her mouth where it was bleeding. No wonder she is still scared and growling at the shelter. A complete list of her notes can be found on the portal: https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/priority/DetailPage... Shelter states, 'Needs placement with a New Hope Partner who can provide needed behavior and post adoption support by closed of business 7/28/24. May be at risk for euthanasia 7/29/24 or sooner if warranted.' We are trying to get a volunteer to visit her and obtain some video. If you may be interested in fostering, fostering to adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for her rescue), please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, and we can try to pair fosters or interested parties with a willing rescue group. Rescue groups may contact the shelter directly at [email protected] and by calling 602-506-7387 and providing her ID.
