**Meet Baxter!** Baxter is a resilient 5-year-old Shalzo Apso who weighs in at 18 lbs. His journey started on the streets of Augusta, where he had been through multiple homes due to his initial lack of house training. However, Baxter's story took a turn for the better when he came into our care. Upon arrival, Baxter was treated for a UTI and neutered. He then joined our prison training program, where he thrived. With just a bit of training and a lot of love from his inmate handler, Baxter mastered the art of house training and flourished into a well-behaved companion. This program gave him the stability and affection he needed to become the wonderful dog he is today. Baxter is great with other dogs but would be equally happy as the only pet in your home. He's a sturdy little guy, ready for a life full of adventure and love.
