About Sasha

Sasha is a beautiful, energetic and sweet full blood Shiba Inu born on 12/25/2022. We purchased Sasha from a breeder in Missouri for $2,400 in April 2022 and she has been a member of our family since. Sasha is up to date on all vaccinations and takes Simparica Trio monthly. My wife and I reside in the Norfolk area with our two sons, 8 and 5, along with our two pups, Sasha the Shiba, and Alvin the Shih Tzu Our youngest son, over the past year, has had a string of health concerns; rashes and hives, runny nose, sinusitis, ear infections, which we've unfortunately discovered is due to allergies that he has developed to Sasha-- we are truly heart broken. We've tried allergy medication for the past ~3 months and while they along with keeping our son and dog separate are helpful, we've concluded that what we're doing now is not sustainable. Sasha used to enjoy free reign in our home; she is house broken, kennel trained, does not chew or destroy anything other than the toys and bones we give her. Since the allergy has been identified, Sasha has been spending most of her time in the yard, or in our ground floor office where her sleeping crate rests. It has been really difficult to maintain the physical separation between the two of them, and it is unfair to Sasha that she is not allowed to enjoy our home, and the family's companionship, like she once did. For these reasons, after weeks of consideration, my wife and are warming to the idea that perhaps Sasha would enjoy a better quality of life with another family. We are not looking to 'get rid' of Sasha, and if we don't find a family that she is comfortable with, and that we are confident will provide her the love and life she deserves, we would be glad to keep providing her the best life we can for her. Sasha has never been aggressive to any member of our family, or anyone for that matter, and our children have definitely played rough with her. She is protective of the family and property, and barks to alert when we have visitors come onto the property. Once she knows you are aware, she stops barking. It has occurred that she has growled unfamiliar people with who approach my wife while on a walk, but she has never bitten. Plainly stated, we have never had a behavioral issue with Sasha-- she is fantastic. Sasha has a sleeping crate, a travel kennel, leashes, harness, Fi-Collar, plenty of toys etc. Curious to see if there are any good fits out there for Sasha.
