About Bonnie and Clyde

Adoption Fee: $150.00
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Bonnie and Clyde are a bonded pair (Bonnie is an altered female, also approximately 2 years old) 'ۢ Bonnie: 'ۢ Age: 2 years 'ۢ Temperament: Playful, skittish yet seems eager to please 'ۢ Interaction with People: Bonnie is incredibly friendly and non-aggressive. She enjoys attention but hasn't made it to the cuddle stage yet. She does not follow any commands but is treat-motivated and seems to be coming around to the idea. 'ۢ Interaction with Dogs: Bonnie gets along with other dogs without incident so much as we have observed. We have introduced them to our dogs and they mostly just want to play. Our dogs on the other hand are not interested and even with a growl from them, Bonnie makes no aggressive stances or moves. She just walks away. 'ۢ Triggered Behavior: Bonnie has a strong prey drive when it comes to cats and small animals. She becomes alert and focused and will not stop until she is distracted, and even then she'll return to where the cat or animal originally stimulated her to continue her investigation. 'ۢ Separation Anxiety: Bonnie experiences separation anxiety when away from Clyde. They have formed a deep bond, and separating them could possibly be detrimental to Bonnies' well-being unless provided for by someone with extensive GSD knowledge and experience. 'ۢ Food: Bonnie has no food aggression whatsoever. She allows Clyde to eat from her bowl while she's eating and she allows us to take the bowl from her at any point during her meal 'ۢ Clyde: 'ۢ Age: 2 years 'ۢ Temperament: Gentle, playful, and energetic. 'ۢ Interaction with People: Clyde is a confident Shepard who's slightly skittish when touched unexpectedly. His reaction to that touch is to dart away a couple of feet and then return. There is no growling or attempts to defend himself. He isn't shy when meeting new people and gently takes treats from the hand. 'ۢ Interaction with Dogs: Like Bonnie, Clyde is friendly with other dogs, and if provoked with a growl he simply walks away without incident. 'ۢ Triggered Behavior: Like Bonnie, Clyde is triggered by cats and small animals. His alertness and focus are remarkable. 'ۢ Separation Anxiety: Clyde's bond with Bonnie is unbreakable. He becomes anxious when separated from her and seeks comfort in her presence. His anxiety when away from Bonnie isn't as severe as hers is but it is definitely present. 'ۢ Food: Like Bonnie, Clyde has no food aggression whatsoever allowing Bonnie and us to be in his space while eating with no issues. We can remove his bowl from him and return it without issue. Ideal Home: We believe that Bonnie and Clyde need to stay together and would thrive in an active household where they receive plenty of exercises and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard would allow them to play freely without triggering their prey drive. Additionally, they need a patient and understanding caregiver who can address Bonnies' separation anxiety and build her confidence.
