About Willow

This pretty girl is Willow. She is a 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog who weighs about 32 pounds. Willow is a smart girl who learns new commands easily. She knows: Sit, Down, Off, Come, Up, and Look at me (working on more!). She is house trained and working on crate training. Willow is initially shy but sweet when meeting new people. She'll quietly approach most people & allow gentle petting. She warms up quickly in quiet environments & seeks further affection. She has had limited kid interaction but is fine with kids who are calm and quiet. Willow can be nervous of other dogs. She is learning to be comfortable with dogs who have a relaxed, easy going demeanor. She would likely prefer to be an only dog. She won't appreciate a dog park and will take time to learn that other dogs aren't scary. Willow is doing well on leash walks in familiar areas. She is still timid in newer places, so will benefit from a quieter neighborhood and someone who takes their time getting her out and about. When she is comfortable, she walks ahead with a jaunty step. She is now able to walk politely past other quiet dogs, and she barks back when other dogs bark at her. Recently her foster stopped for lunch at a very quiet restaurant where they could sit outside. She brought Willow's bed for her to sit near. Willow did a great job and will benefit from slow, ongoing socialization. Willow is great in the car, as she's in it everyday with her foster. She would like to sit in your lap and help drive, so does best if tethered in the back seat so she can leave the driving to you. Willow doesn't like to be left alone for too long. Her people should be home more often than not, or taking her with them most of the time. She doesn't want to be left at home all day waiting for her people. Willow is very gentle & affectionate, giving lots of tiny kisses. Her favourite thing (other than meal time) is belly rubs & she will flip over completely onto her back for extended petting sessions. She allows petting all over once she knows you - paws, ears, face no problem.�%A0 Willow is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She is located in SoCal and ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
