About Arrow

Meet Arrow (previously Kairo) !! This beautiful guy was recently returned to us. He was originally saved from a shelter. He was terribly thin. He bounced back quickly and was adopted. Sadly he was not getting along well with one dog in his adoptive home. He has been with multiple other dogs of all ages and sizes in his foster home and has done excellent so far. We suspect it may have been the other dog in his adoptive home causing the issues. Arrow is a 2 year old male pitbull type mix. He weighs 55 pounds. He has been neutered, microchipped and updated on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative. He is being treated for Lyme with antibiotics which he will come with. He is very sweet and loyal. Loves any attention he can get. Always wanting to be right with you. He's a fun active and energetic dog that loves to run and is always happy to play fetch. He also has a cuddly side when he's tired out. He clings to his people and wants to be with you as much as possible. Arrow is great with potty training. He is crate and leash trained but does need some corrections while walking to not pull. He does good on car rides. He arrived here very fearful when corrected but is doing better now. We aren't sure how he was corrected in his previous home. Positive reinforcement is helping him learn to not jump up and basic obedience he was missing when returned to us. He's learning every day as he's now able to gain some confidence and feel safe. When in a new home he will occasionally submissive pee a small amount when corrected. That fades away quickly once he feels safe. He has been around several children and does well with them. Due to the energy level, and occasional jumping up on people when excited, it would be better to have him in a home with bigger kids but he's never been aggressive to anyone. He is learning and doing a lot better about the jumping. He's not been good with cats according to his last owner. Arrow gets along fantastic with multiple dogs in his foster home. He's been fostered with small, large, young, and old dogs with no issues. He's very playful and active which likely agitated the senior dog in his last home and caused issues between them. That's the best we can figure out as he's navigated meeting so many different types of dogs here with us and been perfect. He would do best with another active playmate or would also be fine in a home without dogs. He adores people and wants to be right with you all the time. He's a super fun and loving dog. Arrow has not shown any food, toy or treat aggression with humans or other dogs. He sits patiently and waits for treats. He's extremely loving and sweet. He loves toys and any activities you will do with him. If you're looking for an extremely affectionate boy with lots of energy then Arrow may be the perfect pup for you. Located in Hampton VA.
