Sex: Male

This is a special situation. First of all this dog has to be out of my possession by tomorrow or I have no other choice but to surrender him to the human society and based on his situation means he will likely be euthanized. With that said, I live in phoenix Arizona, but have been staying in Toledo to fix my rental home for sale for the last 6 weeks. The house is ready and I am leaving on Monday. That's is where the emergency situation is coming from. So the original owner (not me) had three dogs, a yorkie and poodle mix and the boxer that is up for adoption. From what the owners said the boxer and the yorkie walked past each other and the boxer attacked and killed the yorkie. The son hit the dog on the back of the head with a baseball bat and caused about a 1.5' cut. The husband was not home and returned home about an hour after the incident. I was working outside on my home and I heard the dog yelp loud. I asked my neighbor what that was and he said he kicked his dog because he was mad that he killed the other dog. At this point I realized that the dog was in danger. The family was stressed out the children were all crying so I offered him to take the dog, I'm living along here and I have a great backyard for him. He agreed and that was a little over 48 hours. The night I got him I gave him a bath and most likely gave him his first walk through the neighborhood. I raised my hand over my shoulder and pretended to go and hit him, moving my hand only about a foot and 5 feet away from him and he flinched. I now know the dog was been hit/abused. He does not know any commands. He only got his initial shots as a puppy and he is 4, so no rabies vaccine. This dog has been abused and neglected medically. He has never shown me any form of aggression. I have started training him, he is close to knowing his marker command, and sit, he seems to learn quick for the small amount of time I spent with him. Please help!!
