About Peaches

Meet Peaches We named her Miss Peaches because she is just the sweetest thing. A lovely name for a lovely dog. But nothing about Peaches's life has been lovely. We don't even know if this darling had a name before we pulled her from an overcrowded Animal Control. Her previous owner kept her chained in the backyard, breeding her as often as her little body would allow to sell her puppies. Once she wasn't useful, she was turned into the AC as a 'stray,' but the lies quickly fell apart. Hopefully, action will be taken against the owner for the trauma and neglect Miss Peaches suffered, but our main concern is showing Miss Peaches that she is safe, loved and will never again be tied up outside exposed to all sorts of weather, animals and harm. And she will never have her puppies ripped away and sold ever again. What she's experienced is heartbreaking, but it's time to turn towards the positive and focus on Miss Peaches's future. Peaches is about four to five years old. She is a full-blooded English Bulldog. Since arriving to our no kill shelter, she is soaking up all the love and attention being showered on her. She welcomes pets and ear scratches. She seems a little in awe that there is so much kindness in the world. Peaches is calm, stoic, friendly, and affectionate. She loves being in the company of people. She is fine with other dogs, as long as they don't get overly pushy with her. She is very tolerant and easy-going. Peaches does well in a crowd. She will love to go on adventures to wineries and caf̩s. She's just happy to be included. Peaches is compact in stature, weighing 40 lbs. She has the typical smooshy English Bulldog face, simply kissable. She walks easily on a leash and travels well in a car. She's most likely not potty-trained, but we've learned adult pups learn quickly if trained with patient consistency. This little angel deserves a wonderful home with soft blankets, a full belly, and lots of love and kindness. She will love to be someone's companion and we can see that she quickly bonds with her people. She is precious and we love her already. We're grateful we had the ability to rescue Miss Peaches and bring her to the safety of our no kill shelter. For Miss Peaches it's blue skies ahead. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters.
