[Read About Natural Seizure Care] PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO. EXPERIENCE w special needs only. EXPERIENCE WITH SEIZURES. Simba is a sweet, energetic, and handsome male French Bulldog that was born around the beginning of January 2022 weighs 24lbs. It is our understanding that he had been raised primarily outside prior to being surrendered to the rescue. We have worked on his training, and he has had numerous sessions with a professional trainer as well. He is fully housebroken, walks on a leash without issues and is accustomed to riding in a car. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate. As far as commands, he knows 'sit', 'down', 'stay', 'place', 'come', 'pee pee', 'leave it' and 'off'. He is a smart and observant dog and likes to please his owner. Simba enjoys being around people, but he can still get a little excitable during play due to his young age. Continued training and reinforcement are required to keep him in the 'calm, submissive state'. He is not aggressive toward people, and we have had no aggression issues since we have had him, either with our family or guests. However, our trainer does not recommend homes with small children at this time. Older children who understand the need to keep a calm demeanor are fine. Simba enjoys going for walks and we typically take him on at least two walks a day totaling about 2-3miles. Simba gets along well with our three other female French Bulldogs, and we have had no aggression issues with Simba towards our three dogs. If you have another dog, you should make sure they are socialized together and are compatible. Our trainer recommends no dog parks with strange dogs until some further socialization training can be done. Our trainer has a doggie day care facility in Coral Gables and would welcome doing some additional sessions on pack socialization just to get him used to being off leash around other dogs of various temperaments. Again, he has no problem walking around the neighborhood on a leash. Simba does have a seizure disorder, but it is well controlled with medication. One of his medications is on an 8-hour delivery schedule and It is important that the schedule be adhered to. You need to be sure your lifestyle can accommodate this. His medications cost about $50 per month. He has just received a full physical and is up to date on all his shots. Simba's ideal forever home would be an experienced dog owner(s) with some time to devote to continue his development. We also recommend continuing with several more training sessions with the professional trainer to ease the transition into your home and to train you on key things to work with him on. Our trainer would extend a discounted rate to you. Below are two videos of him training at our house and a couple of pics of the two of us hanging out. As you can see, he is cute, alert, smart and a bundle of energy! If interested in filling out an application for consideration of adoption please visit our website WWW.PAWPATROLANIMALRESCUE.COM
