About Jake

Adoption Fee: $375
Australian Shepherd / Beagle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Jake is a goofy, handsome, friendly, social guy looking for a loving family! This sweet boy was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. He appears to be a mix of several shepherd and herding breeds, with some Beagle or other hound breed possibly mixed in for good measure! Jake is estimated to be around two years old and weighs about 40 pounds. A great medium size, not too large, not too small! Jake is a happy dog that is very excited about life! He loves making new friends and LOVES other dogs. Jake is a total wiggle-butt of a dog! His tail is in constant motion, and he always has a smile on his face. It appears he has not had much training and can still be a bit rambunctious when excited, so homes with older children who will not be knocked over by his exuberant greetings will be the best match for him. Jake's ideal home will be with guardians who can help him work on his manners and some basic obedience, as well as guardians who can provide him with lots of exercise and playtime throughout the day. He is crate-trained and does well with his housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Jake is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and started on flea and heartworm prevention. Jake is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved.
