A trainer recommends finding a better home for my Malinois mix puppy. The reason for rehoming is a concern about two male dogs in the same household. My older dog is resource-guarding and reactive to the new puppy. I could not return the puppy to the breeder when I learned about the compatibility issue. The puppy is affectionate and good with all people, and he is socialized with dogs of all sizes. He could be a sports dog or a therapy dog. He does well in routine environments but shows anxiety in new locations or unfamiliar situations. I would prefer a slow adoption process with a series of introductions. I'm also open to donating him to a police officer. If you have someone looking for a working dog, could you please put me in contact? I'm looking to train him for detection work. I think he would excel in it, and he can also make an excellent search-and-rescue dog, given his people-oriented personality and toy motivation.
