About Petunia

Hello! Yesterday in Chatham County, NC I picked up a the sweetest stray dog that was running down the road - I was scared she was going to get hit by a car so I pulled over - she came to me when called, and jumped into my car without much prompting. I took her to my vet to be scanned for a chip but there was no chip. I have a dog and two indoor cats at home so I couldn't hold on to her, and called Chatham Animal Control. She's currently on a 5 day stray hold (https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/CTHM/A011202). She's such a doll - she climbed into my lap and just wanted love, and after I gave her food and water she fell asleep in the backseat of my car because she was so exhausted from being out in the elements. The vet tech said she looked like a young true hound, and mentioned what a sweet personality she had. I started calling her Petunia because she seems like such a sweet southern lady. She has clearly had a hard time - when I found her she was muddy and thin - but she still had nothing but love to give and didn't react aggressively to me or my partner.
