About Lyra

German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Female

Lyra is the sweetest puppy who originally came from a large litter that had been found abandoned on a nearby reservation. Taken to the Arizona Humane Society, she was then deemed too sick to make it and was diagnosed with 'failure to thrive'. After being notified that she was going to be euthanized, we stepped in to help. One look at her and we knew this [albeit tiny] girl had so much fight still to go. We pulled her from the euthanasia list at only four-weeks old so she could receive medical treatment for tick fever, mange and help gaining much-needed weight with proper nutrition. At five months old, Lyra has fully recovered and is absolutely thriving in her foster home. She is the brightest ray of sunshine on even the cloudiest day. Her zest for life is visible in everything she does. She loves being involved in anything you can think of (we haven't found an activity she doesn't enjoy yet!), but her hands down favorite thing to do is play with water'|even if that means taking a shower! Lyra is crate- and house-trained, walks well on a leash and gets along beautifully with people and dogs. In fact, she adores playing with other dogs so much that a playful, furry sibling would be at the top of her forever home wish list! Lyra would also love to go on hikes and long walks with her people, play with toys in the backyard and sunbathe in the morning sun. Lyra's adoption fee includes her completed veterinary exams, completed treatment for tick fever, vaccines, spay and microchip.
