About Ollie & Cyrus

Adoption Fee: $50
Corgi / Golden Retriever
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Sadly, my wife and I need to rehome my mother's dogs. My mother had a stroke 2 years ago and is now living in a care home. My wife and I took the two pups in, Ollie & Cyrus, and while they are amazing dogs, we are just not set up to care for them. We have a very small apartment and travel constantly for work. We've tried to make it work, but things aren't working out as well as we'd hoped. It's been tough on us, but more importantly, it's not fair to these two awesome guys. With my Mom, they were living in a spacious house with a big fenced yard that they could run around in and have fun - we're in a small apartment and have to walk them on concrete, and there is almost no opportunity for off-leash play and running around. We love the boys and have had some great times with them, but the bad has outweighed the good, and we need to re-home them ASAP. Ollie and Cyrus are a bonded pair and must go to a home together. We're unsure of their exact ages, but we think Cyrus is about 12 and Ollie is about 8. Ideally, we're looking for a couple who works from home, has a house, a fully fenced yard, and no young children, other dogs, or cats. If possible, we'd also love to be able to bring my Mom by for visits every once in a while, but we totally understand if that doesn't work. Cyrus (the fluffy one) is very easy to care for at his age. He occasionally sprints after squirrels in the backyard but mostly enjoys slow walks, sniffing every flower and blade of grass along the way. He loves lying outside, feeling the breeze while watching birds fly by, and napping in the sun. He's fine with other dogs if they have similar personalities. He doesn't seem to like being around younger dogs or highly active ones. He takes a daily allergy pill - other than that, he is in great medical shape. Ollie (the short-haired one) has more energy than Cyrus and will be your sweet and loyal shadow. He would be the perfect partner for someone who loves to run or take long hikes/walks. He's only ever known a home where someone is always around, so he tends to get separation anxiety that worsens without enough exercise. Ollie does not have any medical issues. Both boys LOVE car rides; it is the highlight of their day. They are super sweet and easy to care for. They just need a yard and some love. We are happy to answer any questions. Thanks so much!
