About Tiptoe

Introducing Miss Tiptoe. Not sure how she got that name as tip toe is the last thing she does with her giant clumsy feet. She made her way to the shelter as a stray. We suspect she was a puppy the owners couldn't sell and just abandoned her based on her personality. This girl has zero exposure to anything. She is easily startled and has no problem using her big girl bark when she's nervous. She's guessed around 5-6months old and some sort of large lanky mix- but she has a nubby tail! Another dog is a must in her home and she copies their mannerisms quickly and comes out of her she'll alot faster with one. She does initially bark at younger kids but when she realizes they don't hurt her and mostly have snacks she's quickly their BFF. Tiptoe tries to be careful but when she gets the zoomies she loses track of her body and feet and takes out anything in her path : furniture, kids , anything and everything so probably best with no babies/infants as they don't appreciate being treated as a bowling pin. It is so rewarding watching her going from unsure to a bowl in a China shop having that care free puppy behavior she should have had all along. She takes food gently and appears to be kennel trained. Kenneling is ideal for her otherwise she may help herself to redesigning some items in the house or eating food that is not for her. Typical puppy. Bathes we are learning are not scary and we don't need to panic like a cat when we touch the water. Prepared to also get a bath the first few times. She walks pretty well on a leash as she's more focused on the environment and checking all the things out. Tiptoe needs an owner comfortable and experienced with large breed dogs , socialization and willing to do training classes to aid in her confidence and exposure to new things. She is incredibly sweet but we can see the potential of her being nippy or more vocal if not adopted to the right committed fam
